The JACO Foundation Inc. is in the process of developing several programs for children and young adults ranging from juvenile self defense to hip hop dance and musical instruction. The JACO Foundation Inc. has partnered with local organizations to focus efforts in the West End of Louisville, KY to improve their way of life through creative artistic expression.
Youth Martial Arts & Self Defense
The JACO Foundation Inc. has partnered with Dojo Life to bring various martial arts and self defense programs to West Louisville. Martial Arts has transitioned from an art of war to one of sport competition which has allowed it flourish into a form of self expression reflected in the various styles representing different geographic regions of the world.
Creative Writing for Juveniles
The JACO Foundation Inc. is collaborating with local writers in the KY area to help our youth develop their creative writing skills. Students are placed in small classes and given the opportunity to write about different subjects based on experiences in their communities. They are encouraged to develop short stories and novels for eventual publication.
Future Programs
Urban Photography
The urban photography program will focus on educating young photographers in the areas of space manipulation, contrast, lens types, and environmental variables. Participants will get to create a small portfolio to showcase their work.
Dance Fever
Dance Fever will consist of a set of dance related programs ranging in style from ballet to Hip-Hop. Participants will get cycle through courses of interest as beginners in hopes to create traction for more advanced programs.
Aerosol Assault
A look inside the development and styles of the graffiti art culture. Students will learn about different spray paint types, mediums, design styles, and color schemes enabling them to bring their creations to life.
